Ett något lättare ’G’ (0,043?) detta ger en jämnare sträng till strängspänning över halsen och gör böjningen lättare.
En tyngre ’E’-sträng (0,110?) som återigen ger en jämnare sträng-till-strängspänning, eliminerar strängens ’klaff’ eller ’skrammel’ och ger en tightare nedre ände med ökad massa för mer volym i det nedre registret.
Mätaren (0,110?) underlättar också att stämma ner till ett lågt ’D’ utan att strängen bottnar eller förlorar intonation.

Billy says:
A slightly lighter ‘G’ (0.043?) this provides a more even string to string tension across the neck and makes bending easier.
A heavier ‘E’ string (0.110?) which again provides a more even string to string tension,eliminating string ‘flap’ or ‘rattle’ and makes for a tighter low end with increased mass for more volume in the lower register.
The (0.110?) gauge also facilitates tuning down to a low ‘D’ without the string bottoming out or loss of intonation.
